This policy explains what personal information Keep It Simple Cosmetics ("we", "us") collects when you use this website or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you place an order. Payment happens on a secure checkout page run by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details; we never see or store your full card number. We receive your name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if you give one), and what you ordered, so we can ship your order and help with any questions about it.
When you contact us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message, and keep them so we can reply.
When you sign up for emails. If you join our newsletter, we keep your email address so we can send you marketing emails, and we record whether you open them or click links in them. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them right away.
Analytics, only if you accept. If you click "Accept" on our cookie banner, we use PostHog to understand how people use the site, and Klaviyo to connect your visits with our emails if you're on our list: pages viewed, products added to the cart, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location based on your IP address. This uses a random ID stored in your browser, not your name or email. If you click "Decline", no analytics run. You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Basic technical information. Our hosting provider keeps short-term server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure.
How we use it
- to take payment for, ship, and support your orders
- to answer messages you send us
- to send newsletter emails, if you signed up
- to understand how the site is used and improve it, if you've allowed analytics
- to prevent fraud and keep the site secure
- to meet legal and tax obligations, such as keeping order records
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who handle data on our behalf, only for the purposes above:

We may also share information if required by law, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Cookies and browser storage
- Your cart and your cookie choice are saved in your browser's local storage so they're still there when you come back. These are needed for the site to work and aren't used for tracking.
- Analytics cookies from PostHog and Klaviyo are only set after you click "Accept".
- Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page to process payments and prevent fraud.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes (generally 7 years). Contact-form messages are kept for 24 months. Analytics data is kept for up to 12 months. Newsletter subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing support@keepitsimplecosmetics.com. Depending on the state you live in (for example, California), you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We won't discriminate against you for using them. We'll verify your request before acting on it, and respond within the time the law requires.
Children
This site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
